I met my BFF, Erin, a year and half ago. Not very long, but we clicked immediately. We met at work and I liked her easy charm and wit and smarts. She is one of the few normal girls I can talk to, borrow from, hang out with. I also really respect her and her husbands beliefs: They are both vegan, animal-rights activists, environmentalists, and make healthy choices (like riding their bikes nearly everyday, eating and cooking organic and practicing Yoga). Erin is also pro-gay rights and pays very close attention to the Healthcare debate. She always keeps me informed with new polls on healthcare and articles on nutrition and products I might like. I send her Goop newletter recipes. She also makes cycling caps by hand and sells them on Etsy and in a couple of stores, while working as an architect intern and raising her newborn (She’s Superwoman, right?).
When it comes to her style, I notice what she likes and doesn’t like. She has a strong love of stripes and the color green, likes wide leg pants, menswear pants and bermudas, flats (she’s 6 feet tall), short sleeve blouses, scarves, sporty jackets, cardigans, preppy colors, non-animal materials and of course, hats. Her style hasn’t really changed much since she’s had a baby, and she quickly got her body back! The looks I created are very much ‘Erin’. I thought of how I’ve seen her dress hanging out (day and night and on weekends). I wanted to include the necklace because she is very earth-friendly and I tried my best to not include any animal products. I just realized I still have the pic she sent me from the bike pinup she did. The pic I used is her (she’s Miss March 2010) from TYK Calender, her friend’s pet project : ) |

One of my BFF’s has been really into leggings lately. By far the best outfit she wears are these cute little leggings with this striped sweater dress.
